Gym Scene Inspiration

Below is a video that we studied earlier in the year on genre conventions and analysis of videos - we used this as one of our inpirations for the gym scene because of the aerobiocs style but mostly we had an idea of what we wanted to achieve and this video generally gave a basis of how to do and how not to do it because it is almost grotesque in its dancing/performance, we didn't want this we wanted funny exercise with the band - just like in the rest of the video, its all fun.

Magazine cover first draft

In this post Olly have placed an image of the first draft of our magazine cover along with the inspiration we used to create it. As you can see we added the logo in the same place along with the Oasis part at the top. Another aspect we looked at was highlighting the text in white and making the artist names taller than the other text.

We tested using a white background but it looked quite empty. We used inspiration from our music video of having the coloured smoke bombs in the background as it plays in big part in the video. In feedback we have received people say it makes theres eyes hurt with the mixed colours. However, we were happy with this as our first draft and we will take this feedback onboard when doing the next draft.

Level 4 criteria

Level 4
The candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in the creative use of most of the following technical skills:

  • ·         shooting material appropriate to the task set; including controlled use of the camera, attention to framing, variety of shot sizes and close attention to mise en scene

  •         editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer and making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions, captions and other effects

  • ·         recording and editing sound with images appropriately

  • ·         Where a candidate has worked in a group, an excellent contribution to construction is evident.

Digipak feedback from teachers

Below is the feedback from Mrs Field and Mrs Brookes on my groups digipack (1st Draft).
The smoke bomb collage is ugly and doesn't synergies with the three images above and it distracts from the nice images on the front and back cover of the digipack.
The fonts need to be the same on the back and the front covers.
Find another picture of Olly where he doesn't look so "zoned out"
So what Nathan is going to do is assess what we can do to still incorporate the smoke within the digipack for synergy from the video but in a way that makes it look more like smoke and not a "little chef table" or a "hospital gown" in the collage state that it is currently in.

Also for the text Nathan wants to make the word appear as if from an old label maker to mix in the vintage vibe that comes along with the modern sounds of the band.

Tour Poster

This is our Final Tour Poster

Poster Development

This is the first poster Harry came up with. The image was really clean and it felt like we was walking out of the poster. You could clearly see all three members with Jk at the front as he is the main artist. All the information we needed could be put around us so none of the writing would cover us. Secondly the title was bold and the dates were clear.

This was my second ides of using us in the play ground but there was not that much space for text so I cloned the pavement more but this looked out of place. I like there quality of this photo and we all looked the same. Its is in our music video therefore people wold know the link.

Harry had the idea of using the bridge shot however we looked a but fuzzy as we was quite far away. I used this text as it links to our digi pack. The tour dates are difficult the read on the plants therefore this idea couldn't be used. The date need to be clear and displayed well. The shot does look nice and is in our video again.
The 4th idea i had was using a shot down the avenue as this was our first scene. furthermore i used the smoke bomb and cloned this in as Nathan was going to use this on 8r digipack. This gave me nice space to write all the dates and the title. The concrete make a nice space for the tour title to go and it stood out. However we decided the smoke didn't work on the digi pack or poster so we did not use this in the end.

As the colours made it hard to read the text due to all the colour we had the idea of putting in a block colour background so the dates could be displayed. Also we added in the smoke still around the edged to create the synergy needed. This text was more formal and bold however this didn't match our theme through website and digipack.

Intro and Outro Planning

Intro and Outro Planning
I had the idea to bring a loose narrative into the music video via an intro and outro clip. The narrative would be that a worker is daydreaming at his boring 9 to 5 job and a folder is slammed on his desk and he opens it and it has the band name and song inside "AVENUE - MONDAY MORNING" and then the rest of the video ensues and then at the end the video fades to black and fades out of black to the same scene but the worker opens the folder and it is just filled with the usual corporate paperwork.
Beginning shot :
Foley of the background noise of office environment.
Bird Eye View Top down shot from high angle, slightly in front of the workers head so the shot isn't taken up by the top of the head and instead just the hands and sleeves. Full frame is to be taken up by desk.
Office worker has hands clasped, twiddles his thumbs, taps the desk etc and then a yellow folder (to match the one in the video) is slammed on the desk.
Voice heard in background " Get me those spreadsheets by the end of the day!"
Worker opens folder and the first page is the band name and song title for the video, use label pictures for synergy across website and digipack.
Spin up for spin up transition into the rest of the music video.
End Shot :
Fade in from black.
Voice shouting in background amongst office environment foley "Joseph stop daydreaming".

Worker re-opens folder and it is filled of corporate paperwork.

Intro and Outro Inspiration

Below is a video of Wes Anderson shots from his plethora of films, where the camera angle is completely pointed downwards, a birds eye angle, of the desk or whatever is below.
This style of filming is something I really like because its so refreshing to the eye after seeing so much "normal" visual imagery and I think it would be really good to include in our video.

My thoughts are to use this as a filming style for an intro and outro to the video.

Reflection of Filming

Avenue 1

This was our first planned filming day and we had this idea right from the start. We wanted to kick off the video with a well thought out and well planned starting scene. The ideas come from all of us and we had a location in place. when we got to the avenues we realised there was a few more cars than we was anticipating. We scoped the area and thought this wasn't the place for us. We got back in the car and went to another avenue called 5th avenue. This was much better and there was a lot of trees the sun was shining and there was fewer cars. We was here for about 30 minutes as we got set up and did a few run throughs to make sure we had the best footage. Then we walked down the avenue and saw a bridge over a river and we thought this was a good location to shoot some dancing and us hanging off the bridge which looked very good when we got back to school. Also we saw a park on the walk back which looked sunny and had bright colours. We had many ideas here like mucking about on the see-saw and on the swings and on a slide and on a round about. These were nice filling shots to use. That concluded our first filming ay which wad an overall success. We had the idea of starting off our image.

Avenue 2

We went back to the same placer to shoot some more shots cause we thought it was such a good location. We did a in time of use 3 walking down the avenue in the middle of the road. Also we had the idea of 3 of us running down the road. There was a bench in the play ground which we thought we could do a load of random photos that would go in time with the beat where there is no signing. This worked really well and due to Nathans camera the shoots looked really nice. As you can see by the photo. the sun was out it was nice blue sky and it looked exactly the same as the first day of filming which was nice to match.

Drama Studio
The drama studio was a simple idea of us playing instruments and Jk singing along. We would all be in blue jeans and a white top. Also we would have a hand print of our designated colours. Harry is blue, Jk is red and Olly is green. These shoots were simple with a black background and we had to idea to black and white everything else out expect our face paint. This looked really good as the colour stood out and popped. We got single shots of us all dancing and on our own to fill in the video if we needed it. At the start we had the task of getting and good print on our face. This took about half hour as we watch Ollie attempt this and it didn't looked the best. We had to get this perfect before we had our hour slot in the drama studio as there was lesson either side so we got prepared the hour before and got in and filmed efficiently.

Dance Studio
The dance studio was another idea thought up by Nathan and Olly. They had the idea of us sitting down and then Jk would through a white sheet over the camera and when it falls back down it would reveal a different scene of us dancing together or just one of us. This effect would happen a few times which looked really good when edited and the effect was nice and smooth. We was in full suits again and in the same accessories.

Science Room
We had an idea of doing a science experiment that would bubble up and be colourful. We went to the science room as this had all the equipment and the mise en scene fitted the idea of a science experiment. The white background of the wall looked good and made up pop more. We did have an idea of using science jackets but the science room didn't provide us with them as they had one but didn't have the others. They sent us all over the place saying there was more here but this was not the case. So we just rolled up our sleeve son our suit and took of our suit jackets. We had other ideas for the video as we was in these locations. We thought of us dancing on the table and getting our feet moving. We had a dance move mapped out that would go along with the lyrics and us dancing as we lip synced the lyrics.

Smoke Bomb Scene - Field
This was a big scene. We ordered the smoke bombs months ago. We had the ideas in our head from the start and we hadn't set a day to film cause we wanted together all he other scenes done first. We put a day and it was very lucky we did wait as the sun was out for the 2 hours we was over there and blue sky's as far as the eye could see. We strolled over in our suits with equipment in hand. We had toe cope out the area as the sun was in a different place compared with the location scout therefore the direction we were going to film was not useable anymore. We did a few practise shots and filming run throughs so we had it our head what we was exactly going to do. As we only had 30 seconds of smoke to get all the shots we needed. The first attempt we had Nathan scoping around us then when he was behind us we would lit the smoke bombs. Harry had trouble the first time but got under way after a few attempts. Jk and Olly did it first time. We held the smoke bombs then through them. We thought i was going to create a wall of smoke inn the 3 colours but this turned out not to be the case. The wind was strong and going towards the camera so the smoke ran along the floor. Us jumping over the smoke didn't have the same effect as planned. So we re-grouped and thought of a way the smoke will fill the screen like we wanted. The second take everyone lit the smokes bombs when they needed too no hassle. Instead of throwing them we would hold them while we run and then wave them about so it would cover the frame. This would be us lip syncing and dancing to the tune. Secondly we had the idea of us jumping down onto the camera so it looked like we was flying in mid air. All we needed was a blue, sunny sky. Overall we had a a very successful day of filming.

Front Cover Inspiration

Below is inspiration that we found for the front cover of the album/digipack, We were struggling to try and find the colourful creative feel of the band and replicate it onto the digipack design. We google searched images and found this Robin Thicke album cover.

It inspired our design because there are three images of him on the cover, our band contains three people and gave me the idea of how to present them behind the frontman, which is JK. And then my play on the colouring was to instead of just copying green and red colour of Robin Thickes cover, we decided to run with the colour of the hand prints on the bands faces rather than filter them completely through a colour.

Filler Shots Idea

Folder Hand Over
Below is a gif of the folder hand over shot that we want to reshoot, maybe as a close up, extreme close of hands connecting with the folder, kind of like Quentin Tarantino style, with his really close up cut away.

Have to make sure to get the action exactly the same ::: JK reaches out with his right hand and grabs folder from Harry who is passing it with his righthand.

Coffee Hand Over
Oliver hands the Coffee cup to Jk with his right hand and pours coffee into the mug with his left. Should get a extreme close up of the coffee pouring and water turning to coffee in the cup

Label Maker Idea

Below is the link to the website that generates the vintage labels that i used on my digipack to give off that vintage feel, that 70's older generation vibe, where everybody had a label maker.

We used these vintage labels across all of our media to have synergy across everything to do wth the band; the digipack, the website and in the video.

Digipack Feedback

Below is the feedback from my class on the first draft of the digipack...
Avenue – the images of all the band at the top looks really good with the text over their faces. The background for the bottom images looks good and works with the bands image. 8
 Avenue· Like the colour clouds
 · Don’t understand the CD
 · Coloured hands on faces look good
 · Don’t get the song name
 · Don’t get all the writing over the faces
Avenue : The front cover is appealing straight away and the photo is really good. I don’t think the powder background really matches the digipack. The text on the back with the songs is a bit difficult to see and the font doesn’t really match the other font on there. The writing across their faces are cool but it means you can’t see the faces of the artists but the colours look good with the black and white. There is not much consistency with the colour scheme. I don’t think the spines match either. really nice as it is bright and eye catching. Although along with it being unfinished, on the back cover he titles of the songs can be a bit difficult to read, and maybe need to be made bolder. 2/10
Avenue : I like the idea that you have with the smoke that goes around the edges. I also like the vibrancy and brightness that you have throughout the photos. To improve the Digipack though I would make the top of Digipack match the bottom better meaning it isn’t as consistent as it could be. Also where the lyrics go over the top of the spines you can’t see part of the words, so maybe change the background images. 7/10
Avenue : Really like the images, looks highly professional. It is very confusing for the eyes, as there is a lot going on – but is that to match with the music video? I like how each artist represents a different colour, however I don’t like the blue and pink background, as I think it looks a bit random. Overall, however, looks very good and professional. (Level 3)
Avenue: I like the top three pictures where it is the boys where the lyrics cover their faces as I like the black and white and then the pop of colour on their faces. I think there is a big difference between the top row of photos and the bottom row of faces and it looks quite messy. I like the front cover but personally don’t really like the background you have used on the bottom row of photos. I think the text on the list of songs on the album should maybe be in a bolder colour so that it stands out more. I think the colour of the cd which is grey doesn’t go with the theme of the digipack or the yellow writing on the CD. The yellow writing on the CD should maybe be changed to either red, blue or green so that it matches with the rest of the digipack.
AVENUE – Really like the 3 pictures of the guys in top however it makes it confusing with all the writing over their faces. Other than that I think it is really great as it highlights their synergy and how the guys are really like. LEVEL 3
The 3 photos of the band are effective because it means we instantly know that they are ‘all together as one’. Furthermore, the image in the bottom corner is humours which portrays the bands image effectively. However, I feel the font on the front cover of the digipack could be massively improved and really undermines the creativity.
Avenue- I love this digipak, it all matches well and the colours blend well with each other. To improve the CD could have a bit more design on it.
Avenue: Needs arranging properly but the design is good however the picture for the back cover needs moving. 7

Website Feedback

Below is the feedback from my peers on our groups website -
Maybe with the tour dates, it could take you to a different page instead of an anchor point. This could look really cool because you could have your tour poster in the background. Maybe this will sell the tour much better, offering a link which takes you where you can go straight to buying the tickets. This will also bulk up the website even more.
The bio page doesn’t have very detailed information on and is a bit too short. The tour section is too small and plain and boring. Really like the music page. Overall I think the colour scheme for the website is good and matches the theme of the video.
Don’t like the music that plays automatically you have to scroll down to stop it. Shouldn’t be on an automatic loop. Don’t like the red writing but it is bold and does stand out. Opening photo is really nice and shows the group well. The text should be a bit bigger as can’t really see it properly but the font is good with the theme. The photos look really professional and there is lots of information which is interactive. Does look like a very professional website.
Good screen as you open up the site. The buttons at the top look a bit too basic and could be improved. Actually make a full bio instead of having a button but nothing comes up when you click on it. Tour dates look good. Who are we? Basic info? About us? Too much, no one is going to read all of that. Clothing Read more??? Change. Nice merch.
The website is bright, vibrant and excited which is really nice to look at. The photos used are clear and all the links work well. I also like the page for the merchandise and the fact that you can buy tickets on it too. It is REALLY ANNOYING that the song plays every time you go on the home page and there is a slight inconsistency in the fonts used throughout and at times I think there is too much text on a single page. Level 3- 7/10
I like the cartoons of each member – makes it fun Header image showcases image of band – colourful etc. Merch page looks professional but they have individual buttons but it leads to the same page Don’t like the red text on Header About Us is too long – maybe break into paragraphs Why is Tour Date on right side Every page should be individual instead of just being on one page Level 4 – 9.
7, - Quite bland and limited, Heard the song too many times before, don’t need to instantly hear it again, Like the background and the quality of photos
7- The music playing is a good touch and makes the website unique, becomes a little annoying after a while, Tour dates are really good and work well and The about page is very good and detailed.
like the colours, dont like shape of buttons at top, not much on who are we section, dont like the music playing when you go on website, dont understand the tiger and theres not much merchandise. 6/10
8 - The front page looks really good and with the little cartoon characters. The font works really well with the band. On the gallery maybe don’t make it auto play? Really good website with some minor changes, at the bottom just remove the youtube icon.
I absolutely love the little images of the avenue boys as it makes it playful and fun. All the images are fun and high quality. I don’t know if the basic info section is needed, it seems a bit irrelevant and like a Wikipedia page which doesn’t fit with the rest of the website. On the merchandise you either need to delete the product description section or write a description as it is just the default setting at the moment as well as the refunds/shipping policy. I really enjoyed this website however maybe make the pages separate so less scrolling. 9/10.
The full bio doesn’t load up. I like the mini characters at the top. Not sure if you need to basic info box as the description and about us already explains that. I like how things pop up as you scroll down the website. I like how everything is really high quality and professional looking. Id mark this website a 9.
love the design and layout of the website - suits the genre of the artist, feels like a happy website. Gallery video is unique with the song is also a good use of syngery. Good use of information on the website, not boring. High Level 3
I like the bitmojis at the bottom of some of the articles and the way that the song plays when you open up the website. A couple of the pictures looks a little bit out of focus. Level 3
"download full bio" needs to be linked, digipak cover looks quirky which fits artist, colours are good and bold, think there should also be a gallery where you can navigate through pictures instead of a video, I like the ticketmaster banner, "tickets", "clothing" and "album" links need to go to the right places. - 7/10 Level 3
Can't even fault your website which is extremely annoying ( Level 4) Love the whole colour schemes and pages, clearly represent the artists image and i also love the photo album, looks very professional.
Level 3 - Loveeeeee it, it's really fun and colourful! Great synergy. Some pictures in the collage are blurry

Last Chorus Inspiration

Oliver and Nathan discuss how to increase the editing within the video, in the last chorus of the song.

They talked about editing similar to this artwork and like the screenshot from the old students music video. They talked about editing similar to this artwork and like the screenshot from the old students music video.

Production Diary

20/09/2016 - First meeting of the group after being told we were together. We sat down and wrote out all our decisions for our songs.
We each put down our ideas onto a sheet and narrowed it down to a selection of songs. We then noted down some shots and ideas that we definitely want to be shown in the video.

22/09/2016 - we did our presentation in class of our final three contenders of music video songs. The final contenders were Limits Lie by Jamie T, Pressure by Tensnake and He is the same by Jon Bellion. We did our presentation and the class decided that Pressure and He is the same are the best ones to do the music video to and right now our group have decided to run with pressure and are going to continue planning for that video and decide then if we can pull it off.
26/09/2016 - Today we are looking at the lyrics to the video and deciding what kind of shots we can get to go with those verses, we also we're planning out times that none of us were free so we can work with those days and finally i am creating a Steel-O-Matic video. We have decided that we want to have all the planning done by the end of this week so we are ready to shoot.
27/09/2016 - Today we discussed an idea about what our video should include, basic shots and costumes. As we now know the locations Joe has started to write out a risk assessment for each location. Harry has done research on the website and what we should include. Taking screenshots of similar website that he liked and showing what part we would try and include. Also we created and character profile of what each person should be wearing and props need through each shot.
29/09/2016 - In todays lesson we firstly decided on when we would start filming the music video which is Wednesday 5th October. We decided that in this session we would film the opening of the music video as this is our longest shot which includes the most detail. We plan to have our main character walking down a road for a 30 second period singing and dancing to the first verse of the song. We also completed our locations list for when we go on our location recce on Monday 3rd October. We also started to consider band names in this lesson.
30/09/2016 - In todays lesson, we had thoughts on what our band name would be, this is an important part of the process and took quite some time. We didn't decide fully on what the name would be but we had some idea's such as "L9" and "T.C.F.S." but we didn't decide in the lesson. In this lesson Harry continued with the website research whilst Olly and Joe completed a props list.
03/10/2016 - Today at 5 Olly and Nathan went on a Location Recce to find some places to shoot our music video. We found some great locations such as First avenue in Chelmsford which is a nice long road which the band could walk down. We also went and looked at locations which we decided wouldn't be so great such as the Graffiti Wall in Chelmsford town centre. Overall, we were pleased with the outcome of our Location Scout. We also came up with some idea's which are going to alter the narrative involved in the video. One of these ideas was that we could make the video based around time of day starting in the morning when someone wakes up and going through to the night time.

First Avenue

Graffiti Wall

04/10/2016 - Today we did a practice take for our opening sequence. We ran through the dance moves, the camera angles and movement and also the editing process. By doing this practice we assessed the technicalities of the sequence. For example, the opening shot of the zoom might be avoided as it looked to unstable and we thought cutaways might look more professional.

05/10/2016 - Today was our first day of filming. We took a trip into Chelmsford to our first location fifth avenue and filmed our opening sequence. We had the first scene planned out in our heads. We gathered all the equipment needed and got into ollies car and set off. We did go to first avenue first but the road was too busy therefore we had to pack back up and go to fifth. This was a much better location as it was less busy. We could set up in the road and have a couple of tries. We has to wait for the clouds to move a few times. Afterwards we went to the bridge over the river that was near fifth avenue. We has some random ideas to shot as filler shots. On the walk back to the car we found a playground and decided to shot a couple of scenes in here.

06/10/2016 -Today we shot our interview for MTV. This consisted of Nathan being the presenter and then Jk, Harry and Olly being interviewed. We got across the same idea our song we have chosen to do. This was no too serious and fun. Olly started editing this as we filmed a full 11 minutes of interview which had to be cut down and put together as some parts was general discussion. This was great fun to shot. Harry has also completed the Digi pack research of similar artist to us and different ideas we want to include. Jk has made all of our social media accounts today.
07/10/2016 - Today the MTV video was finished, this took time as there was 10 minutes worth of footage which had to be cut down the three minutes, I also filtered out the swearing and added backing music. Joe continued working on the Website which is coming along nicely, he also continued to post on the social media to help create a realistic platform for our band. Harry worked on the blog, posting location and prop lists.
10/10/2016 - Today was the first day after the weekend break. Harry started and finished the textual of a similar music video. Talking about camera, mise en scene, editing and sound. This gave us more inspiration form our own video. Jk is working on our Avenue website which is looking great. He has involved many different aspects to the website. Also Jk is making an avenue t-shirt. Olly has produced a neater MTV script which we used in the interview. Nathan has planned out our shooting schedule and started our story board for our music video. Drawing each shot and how long each part will be.

11/10/2016 - Today we got in early and started filming in the drama studio. We had to bring in paint and all wear blue jeans and a white t-shirt. We had a black background and then used the lights in the drama studio and it looked like we were performing as a band. Harry had a key board, Jk had a microphone and ollie had a bass guitar. We sung along to the parts we haven't got footage for so we can put in little sections that cuts to use performing. Nathan was filming use performing. Olly and Nathan then uploaded all the footage we had and started editing. Jk is working on our logo.

12/10/2016 - Today we filmed in the science rooms. We played close attention to mise en scene and made sure the colours were all perfect. For example we placed three test tubes next to each other and put food colouring in each of them for each band members colour and even put them in the same order we were standing in on the video.
13/10/2016 - Today Olly did a lot of the editing for the video trying to use the footage from the science room and incorperate it into the timeline. JK worked on the Logo whilst Harry and Nathan got up to date on blog work.
14/10/2016 - Today the focus was getting all of the blog work up to date and planning the filming for next week. Olly sent out an email to the sports department to ask when the gym was free for one of our shots.
18/10/2016 - Today we went to shot in the dance studio. This was a full suit shoot again and in glasses and hats. We had us sitting down and then we did a load of random dancing. Then Nathan uploaded the footage and started editing. Olly did a few blog post and so did Jk.
20/10/2016 - Today Harry aded photos to our group photo album. Jk researched other artists logos so we could get inspiration from This to try and think of our own logo for Avenue. Olly and Nathan did a talking walk through of our story board and then uploaded this to edit it and piece it together. Also in the green room Olly and Nathan produced some foley for the writing on paper right at the start of the our music video.

31/10/2016 - This was the first day back after half term. We all looked at the video to refresh our memories about what we had done and what needed doing. Jk got on with the half way evaluation after this which was more of a presentation with a voice over. Olly got on with editing. Nathan got on with the story board and narration over this. Harry did a risk assessment for the science room and finalised some blog work.

01/11/2016 - Today the group worked on basic blog posts to get up to date with what needed doing. Olly also looked at more editing he could do and the footage we had recently shot to see if any good parts were missed.
02/11/2016 - Today we went back to the avenue to film. Harry, Olly and Jk where back in suits. We also did a photo album for our digi pack and got a few photos we could use. When we got back Nathan and Olly uploaded the footage to the computer and we all watch through it. Then we all got on with blog post and kept up to date with what needed doing. We also went to locations around the avenue and got a bit more footage that could be used.
03/11/206 - Today Olly got on with editing the footage from yesterday and put this all together. Harry got photos from each filming day and put together a photo album for all our photos of filming and us working away. Also did a few separate ones foe evidence of filming. Jk produced and continued a prezi for our half way evaluation. Nathan was producing an idea for our video. Also discussed with Olly the plans for our video.
4/11/2016 - Today we had to present our halfway evaluation to the class. We showed what we had for our video and all the other aspects such as website, digi pack, brand image and general information about our band. The class then filled out and sheet to give us feedback on what we could improve on, broken up into each section and how that could be improved. We also watched other groups presentation and gave them feedback.
8/11/2016 - Today we had to look at other classes presentation as they wanted more feedback. We had a good discussion about these and the pother groups benefited from this. At the end we had 15 minutes to finish off blog posts.
10/11/2016 - Today we discussed our group directions and what needed doing again so we could get back on track. Olly mapped put a rough draft on a bit of paper. It gave us all jobs to complete and what we needed to do. We all got back together and were one, once again. After this meeting we all went to our stations and got on with what we needed to do. Jk looked through photos and added to the website. Olly went to complete and finalise the magazine Avenue featured on. Nathan got ideas and started producing our digi pack. Harry got on with blog posts such as feedback.

14/11/2016 - Today was first day back after the weekend and we had plans. Jk updated our website adding photos and making it look better from the feedback we got. Harry got on with feedback from halfway evaluation. Also added photos to the photo album. Nathan added photos to our digi pack to make it more completed and added details. Olly did some touches to our music video and made the magazine cover for Avenue.
15/11/2016 - Today we planned out the filing for tomorrow. We did practise shots of jumping off the chair and shots of the smoke scene. We needed to plan out what we was doing exactly as we only had 2 of each colour smoke bomb and they only last about 30 seconds therefore everything had to be perfect in 2 stakes. We put together a YouTube video of our practise. we also had an idea of doing the Oliver twist side jump where you tap your feet together. Also sliding off a chair which look very good.
16/11/2016 - Today was the big scene we had been planning and had thought of for ages. The sky was blue the sun was out and the grass was green. It was a perfect day to shot. We got suited and booted up then strolled over the back field. We had a few practises with the smoke bombs in hand but not lighting them. Then we filmed through running and what lyrics we needed to sing. The first take we had was through the smokes bombs and planned on jumping through but the wind was high and they didn't reach the height we was thinking. After this we regrouped and then planned to hold them and dance about which looked very good as well. the smoke was no reaching the height and we could see there clear colours.

17/11/2016 - Today Nathan was away on a uni interview so Harry, Olly and Jk got down to work with a few posts. Jk also created the website biography of the group and added the improvements that we got from the feedback. Olly also looked through the footage again to see if he could edit more and finalise the recent editing. Harry also added to the photo album from the footage yesterday and behind the scenes.
18/11/2016 - Nathan was at another uni again today so we got on with basic blog posts. Olly also made a post reflecting on the end chorus's editing idea.
22/11/2016 - Today Olly did a bit of editing as he lost some of his previous attempts. This was not planned as he thought he saved the work but this was not the case Nathan had to edit the smoke onto our digi pack which takes a lot of time. Harry updated the filming feedback and got that uploaded. Jk updated the website further from the feedback.
24/11/2016 - Today we all sat at our computers and got on with work. Nathan carried on with the digi pack and finished off the smoke cloning. Olly got on with editing of our last scenes and got it how he wanted. Jk did the website and the research for the website as he needed new ideas. Harry got on with tour poster research.

25/11/2016 - Olly sat down with our teacher and looked through the footage. They state meed what needed to be improved and changed. Each member of the group also went over and said what they felt about the music video so far. Nathan edited the digi pack and updated some of the parts which could have been better. Harry finished off a few blog posts and then started on the avenue tour poster. Jk added to the website and then tweaked the website research.
28/11/2016 - Today we got in and Olly had to add back in the footage that he had moved and then replace it back in the right position. Jk added to the website after i passed him over the photo album. This added in the gap he was worried about. Nathan had mores ideas for the digi pack and updated this. Harry did updated research on the tour poster as he needed more ideas to include.
29/11/2016 - Today Nathan finalised the digi pack as he will not be in tomorrow and that is the deadline. He stayed after school getting it up to standard. Olly was editing our video adding a few extra parts that could look better. Jk did some website research and added what he had learnt to the website. Harry made 4 drafts of a poster. Each could be used but it was jus creating the correct synergy with the digi pack, brand image and music video.
30/11/2016 - Today all our 1st draft for website, digi pack and video. Nathan wasn't in today so he finished it off yesterday and sent it to miss. Olly was in control of getting the video sorted so he added in fillers that would make up the reminder we hadn't completed yet. Therefore we are not fully happy with the ending. Jk gave the website link to miss as it was all completed. Harry edited some images to pitch to the group for a poster.
01/12/2016 - Today we all had to look at each others websites and give feedback based on the mark scheme. The whole of the group had to do this foe everyone else's. We typed the feedback on word then pasted in the feedback to survey money.
02/12/2016 - Today we had to feedback on the digipacks each group made. We had to emailed this to our teacher then miss would sort out each individual one and give them to each group. After we received this feedback we would make the improvements suggested. On the feedback we had to make this a blog post to reflect and show we was doing peer marking. also we could grab ideas from each other.
06/12/2016 - On this day we did feedback for the first draft of other people music videos. All the feedback was uploaded to our blogs.
8/12/2016 - Today we started to assess our feedback and look for things we could improve. We decided we were going to film an extra section in the gym and decided we were going to get headbands and wristbands for the Mise En Scene.
9/12/2106 - Today we planned the shots we were going to get in the gym scene. We thought about the ropes and the matts and where we could film to be creative and fun. We also set up the risk assessment for this shoot.
12/12/2016 - Today we tidied up our blogs working on unfinished blog posts or improving the blogposts as we waited for the headbands to arrive for our final shoot.
14/12/2016 - We had planned to film today however the headbands still hadn't arrived so we had to postpone the shoot.
15/12/2016 - Today we went and filmed in the gym. We was in full gym wear and headbands and wrist bands to match the colours. This was our last filming day.

16/12/2016 - Olly edited the gym scene with Nathan helping while Joe and Harry continued with blogwork.
20/12/2016 - Last day before Christmas was less productive, we watched other peoples music videos to see the improvements they had made. We had all finished and our group to say the least was thrilled with our end product.

06/01/2017 - 27/01/2017- Evaluations

Magazine Cover

In this post i have placed an image of the first draft of our magazine cover along with the inspiration we used to create it.
